Here are some NEW suggestions for OTHER documents to request from KSS ONE BY ONE via the "Option D" method we describe in STEP 7 of the "Illustrated Step By Step Guide" halfway down the page here:

Please note that this assumes you have ALREADY submitted a birth family search to KSS and have requested AND RECEIVED your formerly secret "KOREAN Adoptive Child Study Summary".

Please note you must wait to receive a response from KSS for one request before submitting another, or your request will be denied.

If you have NOT already submitted your FIRST birth family search request along with your request for your "KOREAN Adoptive Child Study Summary", please follow STEP 1 through STEP 5 of the "Illusrated Step By Step Guide" halfway down the page here:

Please note that you can request BOTH a birth family search request AND request your formerly secret “KOREAN Adoptive Child Study Summary” at the SAME TIME from KSS.

AFTER you receive a response to your FIRST request, you can addionally request other documents from KSS BY SPECIFIC NAME ONE AT A TIME. You have to WAIT to RECEIVE one document, then resubmit your request for a NEW document ONE AT A TIME. IF YOU REQUEST MORE THAN ONE DOCUMENT AT A TIME, KSS WILL DENY YOUR REQUEST!!!

Rinse and repeat. Be sure NOT to request any documents you already have! KSS may take 1-4 months to respond to each request, so be sure to PRIORITIZE the documents you are requesting. Request the most important documents FIRST.

Please see STEP 7 for a COMPLETE list of documents to request! The MOST important document to request FIRST, BEFORE you request ANY additional documents is the “KOREAN Adoptive Child Study Summary”!!!

This process is tedious, but it works. However, you have limited time as ALL adoption files move from KSS to NCRC starting in July 2025. And KSS can take 1-4 months to fulfill each request.

Therefore we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that as soon as you receive your FIRST response from KSS, that you immediately RESUBMIT BOTH of KSS’ birth family search forms - just keep them on file on your computer - this time you should ONLY check Option “D” (NOT Options A, B, C - ASSUMING you have ALREADY requested a birth family search previously) and type ONE document name next to Option D which you would like to request.

AFTER KSS has fulfilled your FIRST birth family search request and sent you your "KOREAN Adoptive Child Study Summary", you can THEN request OTHER documents ONE AT A TIME. You must WAIT to RECEIVE one document, THEN resubmit a NEW request (we recommend resubmitting BOTH of KSS' forms per each request).

These are documents which we do not know if everyone can get - however if you wish to try to request them, we recommend doing so AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Note: When you make your "Option D" requests, be sure to copy / paste the KOREAN AND ENGLISH text from the list below - place both Korean / English text (which is the name of ONE document) NEXT to "Option D" on KSS' Application Form:
