KSS Did Not Photograph Children With K-Numbers Until The 1980s.
We believe that every major Korean Adoption Agency except for KSS routinely photographed children with their K-Numbers (usually handwritten on a sign within the photo - either pinned to the child’s clothing or being held by the child). In other words, we believe that Holt, ESWS, and SWS (now KWS) photographed children with their K-Numbers, but KSS did not photograph children with their K-Numbers until around the mid 1980s.
We do not know why KSS chose not to photograph children with their K-Numbers. But we have never seen a KSS child prior to the mid 1980s photographed with a K-Number.
